Heavy Metal Toxicology

With Heavy Metal Toxicology we check the metals that cause toxicity in the most vital organs such as the nervous system, bone marrow, liver, kidneys.

Metals can enter the body mainly by breathing vapors or substances containing them, taking contaminated food, dissolving tooth fillings of dubious quality, dyes of any type, cosmetic products, cleaning products, etc.

The metals, that are tested for toxicity are:
  1. Lead (Mb): Mainly found in paints and some solvents.
  2. Mercury (Hg): Found in contaminated food and released into the body by chemically unstable black fillings.
  3. Aluminum (Al): It is found in the aerosols of the metal and also in hemodialysis filters.
  4. Nickel (Ni)
  5. Chromium (Cr)
  6. Copper (Cu)
  7. Cobalt (Co)
  8. Manganese (Mn)

Because toxins and heavy metals seriously damage the bone marrow, the organ that metabolizes them, the liver, and the organ that excretes them, the kidneys, the recommended tests are the following:

Blood counts and ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) are checked to see that the bone marrow has not been affected by a toxin in a way that affects the bone marrow's production of white cells, red cells, and platelets.

With β2-microglobulin (β2-μ-U), which is measured in urine, we screen for possible kidney dysfunctions due to toxic insult.

Transaminases (ALT, AST), are used to check possible liver burden from toxic substances

Blood sampling does not require any preparation or diet, and can be done at any time of the day.

The results are given within 7 working days.

The cost of analyses:
  1. for the General blood test, TKE, ALT, AST, and b-2 microglobulin urine is 35 euros.
  2. for each metal costs 40 euros.
