General Check Up

With the General Check up (Hematological) we check:

  1. the immune system (physiology / possible activation by infections – inflammations/deficiency – disorders)
  2. predisposing cardiovascular risk factors (dyslipidemias – intravascular inflammations)
  3. the most frequent chronic – serious diseases (diabetes – cardiovascular – liver diseases – kidney diseases – autoimmune – special infections, etc.)
  4. the body's basic metabolic profile.

The laboratory tests that are included to General Check-Up are:

A hemodynamic assessment of the body is made with measurements:

Hematocrit (HCT), hemoglobin (HGB), red cell count (RBC), and 4 auxiliary parameters for evaluation of red cell morphology.

The physiology of blood production is checked. Indications of possible anemia require further laboratory testing (due to lack of iron - vitamins, gastrointestinal losses - malabsorption, the stigma of Mediterranean anemia, hematological diseases, etc.)

White cell count (WBC), and leukocyte type (WBC-Dif)

We also check the state of rest/activation of the immune system. It is used to detect and monitor possible infections - damage - inflammation or pathological diseases of the bone marrow.

With the leukocyte type, the ratio of the relative subpopulations of leukocytes (polymorphonuclears, lymphocytes, large mononuclear, eosinophils) is calculated. It is used in the separation of microbial-viral infections, detection of allergies, diagnosis, and monitoring of myelodysplastic diseases.

Platelet Count (PLT)

Additional index of assessment of marrow function. First check for disorders in hemostasis (e.g. from taking drugs) and infections, and long-term inflammations, which increase platelets (e.g. smoking).

Red Blood Sedimentation Rate

First assessment of possible immune activation from long-term inflammations and chronic diseases. Unexpected values indicate the need for further testing.

We necessarily examine further, when there are indications, such as fatigue, feeling cold, tithes, pale color, recurrent fevers, and generally in any case of suspicion of a pathological condition of any etiology.

By measuring the sugar after a twelve-hour fast, we check the possibility of diabetes.

In people with a family history of diabetes, obesity, long-term stress, or with borderline fasting sugar measurements in the past, we recommend the 2-hour sugar measurement. We measure diabetes 2 hours after a breakfast full of carbohydrates and we find out the dynamics of the body to "burn" sugar, revealing the person's possible predisposition to diabetes.

It is necessary to check the sugar levels when we have signs of polyuria - polydipsia, weight disorders, long-term cortisone intake, family history of diabetes.

The functioning of the kidneys and their efficiency in removing specific substances from the blood into the urine is evaluated. Possible dehydration, eating disorder, heart failure, etc. are also evaluated.

Laboratory testing is necessary when there is a feeling of fatigue, headache, insufficient or excessive water intake, oliguria or polyuria, intense exercise, bad breath, or taking diuretic-cardiac drugs.

It is used in the diagnosis of arthritis and as an indicator of wear and tear of the joints due to age or sports or pharmaceutical stress. Evaluating the values we check a possible regulation of eating habits with foods poor in uric acid, or the need to take medication, is judged.

Necessary examination for joint and big toe pain (gout), sports strain, and a diet rich in uric acid.

Total cholesterol (Chol), high-density cholesterol (HDL), low-density cholesterol (LDL), atherosclerotic index, triglycerides (TGL), total lipids (Total Lipids)

We also assess the cardiovascular risk - atherosclerosis from dyslipidemia, as well as the endogenous production of cholesterol and the dietary burden of animal fat in our body.

The results are evaluated in their entirety with other predisposing factors (smoking, hypertension, diabetes, lack of exercise, diet, family history, etc.) for further nutritional advice or treatment with nutritional supplements or even drugs.

Laboratory testing is necessary when there are indicators of cardiovascular risk or unhealthy lifestyle, signs of atherosclerosis, family history of dyslipidemia - cardiovascular.

Sensitive quantitative indicator of acute phase inflammations and destruction of the organism. It is a similar test to TKE, but it responds to situations of the last three days (TKE is an indicator of the last 30 days) but is also much more sensitive than TKE.

It is used in the preventive Check Up, in the detection of:

– the active formation of atheromatous plaques within the vessels

– inflammations from diseases of joints, teeth, and other organs

– inflammatory effect of tobacco or obesity

We check the physiology of the liver function and a possible burden on the liver due to alcohol or drug consumption, polyphagia - obesity, fatty infiltration, autoimmune diseases, etc. is assessed. Tests can indicate liver infections such as hepatitis B and C.

The test is necessary to assess the correct metabolic function and the general safety of the organism.

We assess the health of the urinary system (kidneys – bladder) by:

  1. measurement of multiple chemical substances (sugar, hemoglobin, nitrites, etc.)
  2. measurement of physical parameters (specific gravity, color, turbidity, etc.)
  3. their microscopic examination (measurement of white and red blood cells, microbes, fungi, crystals, kidney or bladder cells, etc.)

Bladder infections, dehydration, dangerous metabolic disorders (e.g. sudden weight loss), and more serious degenerative diseases of the kidneys and bladder can be detected.

PREPARATION

Preparation for morning blood draw and laboratory testing:

  1. Mandatory meal the night before, 11-12 hours before blood sampling.
  2. The evening meal should contain as little animal fat as possible (if cheese, fatty dairy, and meat are consumed)
  3. taking no meal in the morning, except coffee and a piece of toasted bread, with free drinking of water.

For taking the urine:

  1. collect your first morning urine.
  2. Wash locally with plenty of water, without soap
  3. discard the first urine and collect a small amount of the middle urine in a special urine collector

The results are given within a day

The possibility of an urgent response is given in 2 hours.

For a faster receipt of the results, we recommended sending them to you or your doctor by email.
