Additional attention is given to:

  • possibility of thyroid diseases - particularly common in the Greek population.
  • eventual Ferrum deficiency due to malabsorption – nutritional disorder or deficiency – blood loss.
  • assessment of levels of essential trace elements for well-being and metabolism regulation.
  • possible lack of important vitamins from nutritional disorders - digestive system.

The extra blood tests, which we additionally include, are:

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

We preventively check the correct regulation of the thyroid gland, which is responsible for the body's metabolic rate. Prolonged thyroid malfunction can be expressed in obesity, lack of concentration, behavioral and psychological problems. A preventive check-up is even more valuable in people with relatives with thyroid diseases.

Ferrum (Fe) and Ferritin (Ferr)

The two tests are carried out in combination to assess dietary iron adequacy.
We indirectly detect stomach disorders, celiac disease, nutritional disorders (diets - vegetarianism), and increased Ferrum needs (intense exercise), which can gradually lead to Ferrum deficiency.
A possible lack of Ferrum, in addition to anemia with symptoms of fatigue, can bring a more general change in behavior, low quality of hair (and loss), and low sports performance.

Calcium (Ca)

Very important trace element in general metabolic regulation. In preventive health checks, it is used to detect endocrine diseases (thyroid - parathyroid), kidney - liver diseases as well as nutritional disorders or malabsorption or vitamin D - magnesium deficiencies.

Abnormal levels can bring fatigue, cause nephrolithiasis, urinary tract infections, etc.

Magnesium (Mg)

Trace elements necessary for metabolism and energy production. It participates in the mechanism of muscle contraction, vitamin D metabolism, nerve and bone maintenance. Inadequate intake, malabsorption, as well as diuretics are the most common causes of magnesium deficiency, which causes cramps, muscle weakness

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is responsible for the conservation of the nervous system - mental functions, the protection of the cardiovascular system, and the body in general. Nutritional disorders or malabsorption often conclude in a lack of the vitamin.

Vitamin D3 (25-OH-D3)

Vitamin D3 is responsible for the absorption of calcium in the bones and the regulation of the immune system. In surveys, the lack of this vitamin has been ascertained in a percentage of even 80% of the examinees. The lack can create problems in the immune system, in the general well-being of the body, and rarely in the skeleton.
