Vitamins - Trace Elements

What is this?

Vitamins - Trace elements, are functional elements in the regulation of metabolism and basic functions of the body. Taking them nutritionally is essential as they are elements that cannot be synthesized by the body. Their levels must be within strict limits so that both deficiencies and toxic loads are not observed.

MAIN CASES OF APPEARANCE – INDICATIONS – SIGNIFICANCE

It is now usual to find insufficient levels of vitamins and trace elements due to:

  1. of poor nutrition - malnutrition from special - extreme diets - oligophagia
  2. consumption of foods of low nutritional value (the result of intensive farming)
  3. malabsorption due to gastrointestinal problems – taking medication
  4. of their increased catabolism – losses from diseases
  5. of particular physical exertion – smoking

The lack of vitamins and trace elements often appears with indications such as:

  1. psychosomatic instability, feeling of weakness, limited mental functions.
  2. increased frequency of infections, deterioration of skin, nail and scalp quality, bowel disorders
  3. the appearance of serious diseases (neurodegenerative diseases, neoplasms, etc.)

The determination of the levels of vitamins and trace elements in the blood is necessary to:

  1. in cases of their low levels, to recognize and assess possible dangerous etiologies
  2. to be given the appropriate preventive or therapeutic supplements, in the appropriate dosages and time of treatment.
  3. to be avoided high toxic levels of vitamins and trace elements with the corresponding creation of serious problems.

LABORATORY HEMATOLOGY TEST

The analyzes, that are used for the profile of vitamin levels are:

  1. Vitamin A (Retinol)
  2. Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)
  3. Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
  4. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxal Phosphate)
  5. Vitamin B9 (Folic acid) growth factor - neuroprotection - well-being
  6. Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) neuroprotection – cardiovascular and anticancer protection
  7. Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid)
  8. Vitamin E (Tocopherol)
  9. Vitamin D3 – 25(OH) (bone and parathyroid health – immune regulatory - prostate specific anti-cancer)
  10. Vitamin D total

The analyzes of the main trace elements are:

  1. Calcium
  2. Phosphorus
  3. Magnesium (wellness – muscle strengthening)
  4. Zinc (immune regulation - skin and coat health)
  5. Selenium (antioxidant – immune regulation – anticancer)

The electrolytes Sodium, Potassium, and Chlorine can theoretically be included in trace elements. They are laboratory tested along with the basic metabolic profile tests.

INFORMATION FOR LABORATORY CHECK

PREPARATION

A simple blood test is required for laboratory testing.

No preparation or diet is required.
