Herpesviruses DNA Test

Herpesvirus DNA Test

The most common forms of herpes are:

  1. HSV I, which is herpes labialis, and HSV II, which is genital herpes. These viruses cause characteristic changes at the sites of infection. They are infections of the central nervous system. Their presence is also associated with: viral encephalitis – several epithelial tumors (e.g. squamous cell carcinomas in the oropharynx).
  2. VZV is the chicken pox virus, it affects the respiratory tract and can remain latent for many years. Its possible activation, mainly in the immunosuppression-exhaustion phase, has painful clinical symptoms (herpes zoster manifestation). Infection with the virus during pregnancy is dangerous for the fetus.
  3. EBV (Epstein-Barr) is the most common herpes virus in humans. It initially presents with the clinical picture of infectious mononucleosis (kissing disease) with symptoms of fever, fatigue, pharyngitis, and mild hepatitis (elevated transaminases). The direct detection of the virus with DNA tests is crucial for determining the immediate medical instructions for the safe treatment of the infection. It has been associated with many neoplasms (in the nasopharynx, Burkitt's lymphoma, and Hodgkin's disease).
  4. CMV the cytomegalovirus presents with an infection that resembles that of infectious mononucleosis. It can be developed into hepatitis or encephalitis, and it can also cause serious fetal damage during pregnancy. It shows a statistical correlation between the growth of tumors and an increased rate of immune senescence.
  5. HHV-8 is herpesvirus 8, which is associated with the development of Kaposi's sarcomas, Castleman's disease, primary multifocal lymphomas (PEL), and multiple myeloma.

The analyzes are done for each herpes virus separately.
For economy, we also recommend and provide packages for the simultaneous analysis of several types of herpes, such as:

  1. A package HSV-1, HSV-2, CMV
  2. B package HSV-1, HSV-2, CMV, EBV, VZV

No special preparation is required, and the download can be done at any time of the day.

The results are given in 4-5 working days.

The cost of analyzing the independent genes of herpesviruses ranges from 120 to 150 euros for each herpesvirus
