Cholesterol - Dyslipidemia

WHAT IS THIS? (Cholesterol - Dyslipidemia)

Cholesterols and lipids are among the basic substances used by the body to transport energy and are the building blocks of cells and vitamins.

Cholesterol - Dyslipidemia | Analytical blood tests for Cholesterol - Lipids Cardiovascular Indicators. Economic packages from 21 euros.

The values we measure in the blood are the sum of:

  1. of nutritional origin
  2. endogenous production - metabolism

They are used as independent indicators of cardiovascular risk and narrowing of the vessels as well as the manifestation of occlusive diseases of the heart (myocardial infarction), brain (stroke), and lungs (pulmonary embolism).

LABORATORY CHECK

The measurement of multiple parameters is required in the assessment of possible dyslipidemia and the calculation of cardiovascular risk.

The basic parameters or the set of the following tests can be used in the lipid profile:

BASIC PARAMETERS

It is the ensemble of the obtained from the diet (exclusively from dietary animal derivatives) and the endogenous produced by the liver. In a relatively healthy diet, the nutritional participation is usually 20-25% of the whole, statistically, the main source of cholesterol is cheese and generally dairy products and then fatty meats.

Is the protective - "good" cholesterol that we want as high as possible. Its regulation is done through good nutrition, exercise (walking), and of course by stopping smoking.

It is the harmful - "bad" cholesterol that we regulate mainly with a good diet (avoiding animal fats) and then with medication if it is necessary.

They are the lipids that depend mainly on the diet and the fats we consume. In addition to their importance for the cardiovascular system, their potentially high values are evaluated as an indicator of metabolic disorder and risk of pancreatic function.

It is the ensemble of lipids that are associated with the atherosclerotic disease – cardiovascular risk and metabolic disorder.

It is the ratio of cholesterol to HDL and shows the degree to which HDL effectively protects the vessels from total cholesterol.

ADDITIONAL PARAMETERS

An independent lipid that is an additional risk marker for atherosclerosis and cardiovascular disease. It is used as an additional element in the evaluation of the possible pathogenicity of cholesterol and triglycerides.

Cholesterol fraction, which is independently evaluated as an indicator of cardiovascular risk – metabolic index.

It gives additional insight into the protective capacity of HDL.

It gives additional insight into the harmfulness of LDL.

It is evaluated to assess specific types of dyslipidemia and the effectiveness of statin medication.

OPTIONAL INDICATORS IN CASES OF DYSLIPIDEMIA

  1. High-sensitivity CRP / Fibrinogen / Homocysteine Indicators of intravascular inflammation
  2. Genetic screening for thrombophilia
RECOMMENDED CHECK UP OF STATIN TAKING
  1. Transaminases ALT/AST control drug liver damage
  2. CPK test drug muscle damage control – rhabdomyolysis

IMAGING LABORATORY TESTING FOR PREVENTION OF DYSLIPIDEMIA

The following tests are done for the assessment of atherosclerotic disease with an assessment not only on the age but also on the personal and family history assessment

  1. Heart triplex ultrasound
  2. Carotid Triplex Ultrasound

PREPARATION

As a preparation for the morning blood draw and the medical test, we recommend:
  1. Have a meal the night before.
  2. Take up your last meal 11-12 hours before the blood draw.
  3. to have the evening with as little animal fat as possible (if it contains cheeses, fatty dairy products, and meats).
  4. taking no meal in the morning, except coffee and a piece of toasted bread, with free drinking of water.
TIME OF RESULTS
  1. The results are given within a day
  2. We recommended sending the results by email for a faster receipt
COSTING
  1. EOPYY The individual laboratory tests are prescribed and a fee applies according to the referral
  2. PRIVATE CHARGE
  3. The cost for the basic parameters (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, total lipids, atherosclerotic index) is 21.75 euros (initial price at 29 euros)
  4. The complete profile with 11 parameters costs 67.50 euros (initial price at 90 euros)
  5. Optional laboratory checks and triplex have extra charges
