Herpesviruses DNA Test

Herpesviruses DNA Test

The most common forms of herpes are :

  • HSV I is herpes simplex and HSV II is genital herpes. These viruses cause characteristic lesions at the sites of infection. They are infections of the central nervous system. Their presence is also associated with: viral encephalitis – several epithelial tumours (e.g. squamous cell carcinomas in the oropharynx).
  • VZV is the chickenpox virus, it affects the respiratory system and can remain dormant for many years. Its possible activation, especially in a phase of immunosuppression – exhaustion, has painful clinical symptoms (shingles manifestation). Infection with the virus during pregnancy is dangerous for the foetus.
  • EBV (Epstein-Barr) is the most common human herpesvirus. It initially presents with the clinical picture of infectious mononucleosis (kissing disease) with symptoms of fever, fatigue, pharyngitis and mild hepatitis (elevated transaminases). Immediate detection of the virus by DNA tests is critical for determining immediate medical instructions for safe treatment of the infection. It has been associated with many neoplasms (in the nasopharynx, Burkitt’s lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease).
  • CMV cytomegalovirus presents with an infection that resembles that of infectious mononucleosis. It can develop into hepatitis or encephalitis, it can also cause serious fetal damage during pregnancy. It shows a statistical correlation with tumor development and increased rate of immune aging.
  • HHV-8 is herpesvirus 8, which is associated with the development of Kaposi’s sarcomas, castleman’s disease, primary extracellular lymphomas (PEL) and multiple myeloma.

Analyses shall be carried out for each herpesvirus separately.

For reasons of economy, we also provide simultaneous analysis packages for several types of herpes, such as :

  • Package A HSV-1, HSV-2, CMV
  • Package B HSV-1, HSV-2, CMV, EBV, VZV

No special preparation is required, and it can be taken at any time of the day.

Results are given in 4-5 working days.

The cost of analysis of independent herpesvirus genes ranges from EUR 120 to 150 per herpesvirus

Herpesviruses DNA Test

Herpesvirus DNA has become an important object of research and diagnosis in the field of medicine. Herpes viruses are viruses that cause a variety of diseases in humans, including eczema, shingles and epilepsy. Diagnosis of herpesviruses can be difficult due to the differentiation of symptoms and the possibility of remaining asymptomatic. In recent years, however, DNA tests have emerged as a powerful tool for the diagnosis of herpesviruses, offering accurate and reliable results.

The herpesvirus DNA test procedure begins with the collection of a sample from the patient. This can be done in several ways, including extracting a sample from irritations or ulcers caused by herpes viruses, as well as collecting a sample of body fluids, such as blood or saliva. The sample is then sent to the laboratory for analysis.

During the analysis, the DNA contained in the sample is tested for the presence of known herpesvirus genes. This analysis can be done by several methods, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and DNA sequence analysis. After analysis, the results are interpreted by experts in the field of virology or molecular biology.

DNA tests for herpesviruses provide many benefits. Firstly, they offer an accurate way of diagnosing herpesviruses, allowing doctors to detect the presence of the virus with great precision. This can lead to more effective treatment approaches and care plans for patients. In addition, DNA tests can provide information on the resistance of herpesviruses to different drugs, helping doctors to choose the most effective treatment for each patient.

In addition, DNA tests for herpesviruses can be used to monitor disease progression and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. This allows doctors to adjust the treatment plan according to the patient’s reaction to treatment and to take early action in case of possible drug resistance.

In addition to the benefits in diagnosis and treatment, DNA tests for herpesviruses can also help prevent transmission of the virus. By determining the presence of the virus in a person, whether already sick or a carrier, appropriate precautions can be taken to prevent transmission to other people. This is particularly important in environments where herpesviruses can be easily transmitted, such as in medical facilities or in the sexual environment.

In recent years, technological developments have significantly improved the availability and accuracy of DNA tests for herpesviruses. New analytical methods and biological techniques have made it possible to produce results quickly and reliably, while clinical trials and studies have confirmed the accuracy and reliability of these tests.

Ultimately, DNA tests for herpesviruses are a powerful tool for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases caused by herpesviruses. By adopting these technologies and strengthening preventive and therapeutic approaches, it is possible to improve the quality of care for people suffering from these diseases. With the wider dissemination and use of DNA tests for herpesviruses, it is possible to achieve greater control of infectious diseases and improve public health in general.

Overall, DNA tests for herpesviruses represent an important orientation in the field of medicine, providing accurate, rapid and reliable solutions for the diagnosis and monitoring of herpesviruses.
