In the dilated check-up, we use the general check-up tests to check their basic health and metabolic parameters, as shown in the table:
ANALYSIS / TESTING | / SCANNING : |
---|---|
General blood count / CBC blood count | Measurements in Hematocrit – Red Blood Cell – White Blood Cell – Platelets and examination of their morphology. Detection of mainly Anemia, Inflammation, Infections, Marrow Dysplasia. Indications – effect of chronic diseases – conditions |
Settling velocity TCE/ESR | |
C-reactive protein High sensitivity CRP-hs | Short-term central as well as local inflammation, cardiovascular risk consideration of endovascular inflammation |
Fasting sugar / two-hour Glu | Diabetes mellitus / predisposition to diabetes |
Urea Urea | Kidney function |
Creatinine Cr | |
Uric acid UA | Arthritis, eating disorders |
Cholesterol Total Chol | The amount and ratio of blood lipids as – a key indicator of long-term cardiovascular risk – an indicator of metabolic profile |
Cholesterol HDL | |
LDL cholesterol | |
Triglycerides Tgl | |
Atherotic index | |
γ-glutaminotransferase γ-GT | Liver function, possible liver irritation from chemical agents or infections |
Transaminases ALT & AST | |
General urine | Pathology and infections in kidneys and bladder |
Additional attention is given to :
- likelihood of thyroid disease; particularly common in the Greek population.
- possible iron deficiency due to malabsorption – food disorder or deficiency – blood loss.
- assessment of levels of essential trace elements for wellness and metabolic regulation.
- possible lack of important vitamins from nutritional – digestive system disorders;
The additional tests that we include in the General Check Up Plus - Expanded are :
Thyroid hormone (TSH)
We proactively control the proper regulation of the thyroid gland which is responsible for the metabolic rate of the body. Prolonged thyroid dysfunction can be manifested by obesity, lack of concentration, problems in behavior and psychology. Screening is even more valuable in people with relatives with thyroid disease.
Iron (Fe) and Ferritin (Ferr)
The two tests are performed in combination to assess the adequacy of dietary iron.
We indirectly detect stomach disorders, celiac disease, food disorders (diets – vegetarianism), increased iron needs (intense exercise), which can gradually lead to iron deficiency.
Possible iron deficiency, in addition to anaemia with symptoms of fatigue, can bring a general change in behaviour, low quality of wool quality (and loss), low sports performance.
Calcium (Ca)
A very important trace element in general metabolic regulation. In screening is used in the detection of endocrine diseases (thyroid – parathyroid), kidney – liver diseases as well as nutritional disorders or malabsorption or vitamin D – magnesium deficiencies.
Abnormal levels can cause fatigue, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, etc.
Magnesium (Mg)
Trace element essential for metabolism and energy production. It is involved in the mechanism of muscle contraction, nerve maintenance and in the metabolism of vitamin D and bone maintenance. Inadequate intake, malabsorption, and diuretics are the most common causes of magnesium deficiency, causing cramps, muscle atony
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is responsible for the maintenance of the nervous system – mental functions and the protection of the cardiovascular and the body in general. Eating disorders or malabsorption often result in a deficiency of the vitamin.
Vitamin D3 ( 25-OH-D3)
Vitamin D3 is responsible for the uptake of calcium into the bones and the regulation of the immune system. Research has shown a shortage in as many as 80% of examinees. The deficiency can create problems in the immune system, the general well-being of the body and rarely in the skeleton.
