Female Infertility - Hidden Factors

Female Infertility – Hidden Factors

In cases where the clinical check-up by the gynaecologist and the first fertility check as described on the page “Menstruation & Fertility” has no significant findings and

  • the desired pregnancy is not achieved
  • there is experience of palindromic pregnancies

Laboratory testing

Karyotype analysis in woman (and man):

The test checks the number and quality of chromosomes. Possible birth defects in the chromosomes make natural pregnancy difficult but also pose serious health risks for the child to be born. In these cases, the contribution of preimplantation testing by a specialized IVF center is required.

Screening for thrombophilia in women:

Immune dysfunctions from autoimmune diseases, but also mutations in specific genes involved in the regulation of haemostasis are particularly common. These result in an increased likelihood of thrombosis in the new endometrial vessels – the area where the embryo is implanted. In case of clot formation in the new vessels, the blood flow to the uterine vessels and consequently the blood supply to the fetus is impeded or even interrupted, with possible problematic hooking – development or miscarriage. The test determines the possible requirement of preventive antithrombotic therapy during pregnancy.

Complete thrombophilia screening is recommended including :
  • biochemical – immunological testing for thrombophilia especially in people who have the same or family members with autoimmune diseases as described on the page “Thrombophilia”
  • thrombophilia gene screening which demonstrates possible gene mutations that cause clots especially in people with family members with strokes, heart attacks, embolisms, as described on the page “Thrombophilia gene”

Check for endometriosis:

It is one of the major causes of infertility, where the endometrium grows in areas outside the uterus. This condition is detected by laparoscopy, which is an invasive method of choice. Laboratory testing can detect markers of ovarian inflammation CA-125 and the general immunological marker of inflammation IL-6, and indicate the necessity or not of laparoscopic examination of the ovaries

Screening for bacterial infections using bacterial DNA detection techniques:

The classical cultures proposed in fertility testing have several times had false negative results. Depending on the test and the examinee, false negative culture results can be as high as 60%. However, in cases of unexplained infertility, it is recommended in negative culture results, the confirmatory detection of ureoplasma, mycoplasma, and chlamydia, with the highly sensitive and most reliable molecular method of detecting their DNA, as described on the page “Sexually Transmitted Parasites”.

Check for vitamin deficiencies:

Many reports have been made of infertility due to vitamin deficiency especially in women with eating disorders – malabsorption problems – smokers. The most important in their lack are the :

  • Vitamin A
  • Folic acid B9
  • Vitamin B12
  • Vitamin E

Women’s Infertility CheckUp

Infertility is a condition that affects many women around the world. Despite its frequency, there are many hidden factors that may contribute to this condition, making it difficult to diagnose and treat. A specialised infertility test studies factors that may be hidden and affect a woman’s ability to conceive.

Infertility is usually defined as the inability to carry a pregnancy after one year of protected sexual activity, or after six months for women over 35 years of age. This definition, however, does not take into account the many factors that can affect infertility. Hidden factors, such as a detected endocrine disorder, sleep disturbance and exercise, can play a critical role in a woman’s ability to conceive.

Examining the hidden factors of infertility (Women’s Infertility CheckUp) usually requires a comprehensive approach by infertility and endocrinology specialists. Clinical trials, questionnaires on sleep and exercise health, as well as analysis of hormonal profiles can help to identify possible infertility factors.

Sleep disturbances can cause imbalances in hormone levels, affecting the health of the reproductive organs. Research has shown that lack of sleep or poor sleep quality can affect female reproductive health, including slowing down the ovulation cycle and increasing the risk of infertility.

Exercise is another factor that can affect infertility. A high level of exercise can lead to excessive production of phosphoric acid in the body, which can affect ovarian health and reproductive function.

With ongoing research and development in the field of infertility, identifying and treating the hidden factors of infertility is becoming increasingly feasible. Through systematic screening and a preventive approach, it is possible to offer significant help to women facing infertility problems.
