CheckUp for children 3-12 years old

For the Children’s CheckUp 3-12 years old, we use the most important tests from the general CheckUp package as the basis for the selection of analyses, with :

ANALYSIS / TESTING / SCANNING :
General blood count / CBC blood test Measurements in Hematocrit – Red Blood Cell – White Blood Cell – Platelets and examination of their morphology.
Detection of mainly Anemia, Inflammation, Infections, Marrow Dysplasia.
Settling velocity TCE/ESR
C-reactive protein High sensitivity CRP-hs Short-term central and local inflammation,
Fasting sugar / two-hour Glu Diabetes mellitus / predisposition to diabetes
Urea Urea Assessment of renal function
Creatinine Cr
Cholesterol Total Chol Assessment of metabolism and nutrition qualitatively – quantitatively
Triglycerides Tgl
Transaminases ALT & AST Assessment of liver function
General urine Pathology and infections in kidneys and bladder

But for the peculiarities of childhood (possible allergies – tonsillitis, nutritional adequacy – weight disorders, development – concentration issues) we additionally choose the:

Immunoglobulins E (IgE)

They are the main indicator of allergic reactions of all types which, according to the literature, afflict about 30% of children. The unnecessary activation of the immune system by allergic reactions creates an environment for the perpetuation of allergies even at older ages, while it exhausts the body as a whole and creates more general sensitivities. With proper information, possible allergic shock can be avoided (e.g. from an insect bite, antibiotics, food, seasonal allergen, etc.).

Antistreptolysin (ASO)

It is the test for detecting possible streptococcal infection of the tonsils. The infection is very common among children, and in an outbreak phase requires immediate treatment to avoid possible serious side effects (e.g. heart attack).

Iron (Fe) and Ferritin (Ferr).

The tests are performed in combination to assess the adequacy of dietary iron in children.
Increased consumption of dairy products often causes problems in iron absorption. Possible iron deficiency, in addition to anaemia with symptoms of fatigue, can bring about a general change in children’s behaviour and even learning difficulties.

Thyroid hormone (TSH)

We proactively control the proper regulation of the thyroid gland, which is responsible for the metabolic rate of the body. In children, a potentially prolonged thyroid dysfunction may be manifested by obesity, lack of concentration, learning difficulties, behavioural and developmental problems. Screening is even more valuable in children with parents with thyroid disease.

Vitamin D3 ( 25-OH-D3)

Vitamin D3 is responsible for the uptake of calcium into the bones and the regulation of the immune system. Research has shown a shortage in as many as 80% of examinees. In children the lack can create rickets – developmental problems in the skeleton.

CheckUp for children 3-12 years old

The Check-Up for children aged 3-12 years is an important process aimed at preventing, assessing and promoting their health during this critical period of their development. During childhood, children experience significant physiological, social and educational changes, and a full health check-up can provide the necessary clues and advice needed to adopt a healthy lifestyle and prevent potential health problems.

The tests that are usually included in the Check-Up for children aged 3-12 years are designed to assess various aspects of their health, including physical health, psychological health, nutrition and physical activity.

The Check-Up process for children aged 3-12 years usually starts with a consultation with a paediatrician or family doctor, who will prescribe the necessary tests, taking into account the child’s medical history and risk factors. The tests usually included are to assess physical health, such as measuring weight, height and examining the condition of key organs.

In addition, the Check-Up for children aged 3-12 years includes tests to assess their developmental and psychological health. This includes assessing the child’s development, evaluating language and motor skills, as well as examining the child’s emotional reactions and social skills.

In addition, in some cases, the Check-Up may include tests to assess the child’s immune status, including vaccinations and possible allergies. The child’s vision and hearing may also be checked, and tests may be done to assess dental health.

It is also important to carry out tests on the child’s diet and physical activity. A nutritionist can assess the child’s diet and advise on a balanced diet, while a physiotherapist can monitor physical activity and suggest appropriate exercises and activities.

In addition, the Check-Up for children aged 3-12 years should include tests to assess the child’s vaccinations. Vaccinations are important to protect the child from serious diseases and it is important to check regularly to ensure they are up to date.

Finally, it is important to emphasise that the Children’s Check-Up should be a positive experience for the child. It is important that the doctor or specialist performing the Check-Up is friendly and understanding so that the child feels comfortable and not afraid of the visit.
