For the peculiarities of adolescence (sports activities, possible nutritional deficiency, unsafe behaviour, etc.) we additionally select:
Creatinophosphokinase (CPK)
It is an enzyme found in muscle cells, and is used as an indicator of muscle stress from exercise to prevent possible overuse and possible muscle and ligament damage. The examination can provide additional information about other pathological diseases in cases of muscle pain and weakness without an obvious reason.
Iron (Fe) and Ferritin (Ferr).
The tests are performed in combination to assess the adequacy of dietary iron in children.
Increased consumption of dairy products often causes problems in iron absorption.
Possible iron deficiency, in addition to anaemia with symptoms of fatigue, can bring about general behavioural changes in adolescents, up to and including learning difficulties.
Thyroid hormone (TSH)
We proactively control the proper regulation of the thyroid gland which is responsible for the metabolic rate of the body. In children, a prolonged thyroid dysfunction can be manifested by obesity, lack of concentration, learning difficulties, problems in behaviour and development. Screening is even more valuable in children with parents with thyroid disease.
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is responsible for the maintenance of the nervous system – mental functions and the protection of the cardiovascular and the body in general. Eating disorders or malabsorption often result in a lack of the vitamin.
Vitamin D3 ( 25-OH-D3)
Vitamin D3 is responsible for the uptake of calcium into the bones and the regulation of the immune system. Research has shown a shortage in as many as 80% of examinees. In children the lack can create rickets – developmental problems in the skeleton. Many studies report the significant protective effect it has on the likelihood of juvenile diabetes
Optional
Screening for STDs (Hepatitis B/C – HIV) is recommended for the safety and education of adolescents
Additional analyses can be chosen to check for possible unsafe behaviour or abuse, with consultation provided at our site.

Examinations to assess physical health usually include measuring height, weight and blood pressure, as well as a general examination to assess the condition of key organs such as the heart and kidneys.
In addition, the Check-Up usually includes tests to assess the psychological state of the adolescent. This includes interviews with the physician and psychologist, as well as questionnaires that assess the adolescent’s anthropological and psychological state, such as self-esteem, social interaction and emotional reactions.
In addition, the Check-Up may include tests to assess growth and development and epidemiological evaluation for potential health problems associated with puberty. This includes tests to assess physical development, genital development and sexual maturation, as well as tests to monitor the frequency and quality of sleep, diet and physical activity.
Finally, the Teen Check-Up also includes education and advice on adopting a healthy lifestyle and preventing potential health problems. This includes information on the importance of healthy eating, physical exercise and psychosocial well-being, as well as advice on coping with stress and managing relationships.
