Blood Collection - Home Delivery - Office

We undertake daily blood collection – home delivery – office delivery (Athens) within the Attica basin, but also with specific appointments blood collection within 2-3 hours from the center of Athens.

To ensure the preservation of samples, we use special vials with blood preservatives, as well as thermostated portable refrigeration chambers.

Blood collection at home, in addition to the obvious convenience of the subject, especially in cases of the elderly and generally inflexible persons, facilitates blood collection in:
  • young children becoming negative about working together in a hospital setting – where other children are shouting.
  • people who faint due to the tension they feel during blood collection (blood is drawn at the bedside).
  • people with particularly difficult veins, where the home environment relaxes the body making blood collection simpler and easier.
There are important reasons, however, why blood collection may be required to be done exclusively at home, such as:
  • Pressure testing before the subject gets out of bed.
  • Stress hormone measurement tests where the subject must remain in their familiar environment, without contact with the image of the medical room and doctors.
  • Tests that require blood to be drawn during evening hours when the laboratory is closed.
In addition, the results can be delivered to your home or office or to your doctor directly, with:
  • use of postal services – courier.
  • electronic sending via e-mail/sms.

The process of blood collection, which involves the delivery of blood either at home or in an office, is an important procedure in the field of medicine that allows the collection of blood samples for various medical purposes. This procedure is usually carried out by qualified healthcare professionals, such as nurses or phlebotomists, who are trained to provide the necessary care and ensure that the blood is collected and stored correctly.

Home or office blood draws offer an extremely convenient and efficient way for patients to perform blood tests without the need to visit a hospital or doctor’s office. This is particularly useful for patients who find it difficult to move due to illness, disability or other limitations. In addition, it provides a more comfortable and friendly environmental experience compared to doctors’ offices or hospitals, as the patient is in their own space.

During the home or office blood collection procedure, the qualified healthcare professional performing the blood collection is responsible for providing full attention and care to the patient. This includes ensuring the safety and comfort of the patient during the procedure, as well as the accurate collection of the blood sample.

On arrival, the healthcare professional will examine the patient and discuss the blood collection procedure with them, answering any questions or concerns they may have. He or she will then prepare the patient and the environment for the blood collection, including selecting the appropriate site for the blood collection and implementing the necessary hygiene measures.

Then, the healthcare professional will proceed to collect the blood sample by selecting the appropriate vein in the patient’s arm or elbow. Before collecting the sample, you will carefully clean the area with an antiseptic solution to reduce the risk of infection.

After preparing the area, he will place a rubber band on the patient’s brachial vein to achieve bleeding into the skin and veins. Then, using a spike, it will insert the needle into the vein and collect the required amount of blood into a collection tube.

Upon completion of the blood draw, the healthcare professional will remove the needle and apply a bandage to stop the bleeding. He will then prepare the blood sample for transport to the laboratory for analysis. If necessary, he or she can advise the patient on the care of the blood collection site and provide instructions on the next steps.

Home or office blood draws offer a range of benefits for both patients and healthcare professionals. For patients, these services offer the comfort and convenience of being served in the comfort of their own home, minimising the need to travel to the hospital or doctor’s office. This can lead to a reduction in the stress and anxiety associated with medical visits and improve patient compliance with treatment.

In addition, home or office blood draws offer flexibility in the patient’s schedule and can help with preventive care and health monitoring. On the other hand, for healthcare professionals, providing blood draws at home or in an office allows them to offer personal and tailored care to their patients, while reducing waiting time and understanding for medical staff in doctors’ offices and hospitals.

Overall, home or office blood collection offers a flexible, convenient and efficient solution for collecting blood samples for medical purposes. It provides a comfortable and friendly environmental experience for patients and helps to minimise the stress and anxiety associated with medical visits. At the same time, it allows healthcare professionals to provide personalised and tailored care, improving the patient experience and helping to deliver medical care efficiently. With the growing demand for these services, home or office-based blood collection is expected to continue to evolve and become an important part of medical care in the future.
