The measurement of magnesium (Mg) is a part of the preventive Check Up for all ages to assess its adequate intake and to detect possible diseases of malabsorption:

1. Food low in magnesium
2. Gastrointestinal disorders (celiac disease, gastritis, ulcer, gastric bypass, medications, etc.)
3. Increased needs (pregnancy, childhood, sports - physical exertion)

Need to measure is suggested in :

a. Signs of deficiency

1. muscle weakness, twitching, cramps
