Immunoglobulins IgA IgM IgG

Immunoglobulins IgA IgM IgG - antibodies are one of the most important systems of the body's immunity. There are five distinct categories. The main ones in immune physiology are:

  1. IgM Antibodies of the body's first reaction to the appearance of a new infection. Extremely active with a residence time of a few weeks after infection.
  2. IgG Antibodies reminders. They are produced at the end of the first reaction by IgM and remain for tens of years in the body providing the so-called immunity. (Vaccines produce IgG antibodies).
  3. IgA Antibodies are found not only in blood but also in lungs, tears, saliva, gastric fluids, and breast milk.

The tests are recommended for people with indications:

A. Lack of immunoglobulins - immunodeficiency | Common symptoms are:

  1. Frequent - recurring illnesses (colds - pneumonia - gastroenteritis)
  2. Diarrhea
  3. Chronic inflammations - chronic infections

More common cases of decreased production of immunoglobulins are presented by specific drugs (eg, phenytoin, carbamazepine, immunosuppressants), renal failure, and diabetes.

.

Β. Excessive production of immunoglobulins - pathological fractions.

The increase is characterized by further tests (albumin electrophoresis - immunoelectrophoresis):

a. Polyclonalism commonly seen in:

  1. Infections (chronic-acute phase) and Inflammations (chronic-acute phase)
  2. Autoimmune diseases
  3. Liver cirrhosis

b. The monoclonal test is seen in hematological diseases (Multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, lymphoma)

  1. IgA : 70 - 400 mg/dL
  2. IgM : 40 - 300 mg/dL
  3. IgG : 700 - 1600 mg/dL

Simple blood collection happens at any time of the day (7.30-19.30)

The result is available the next working day.

The cost of each individual Ig Immunoglobulin is 18 euros*.

The examination is prescribed at the EOPYY**, with the participation of the examinee as defined in the referral (15%, unless otherwise stated)

*A 25% discount applies when participating in Check Up

**In our center we have doctors with the right to prescribe EOPYY prescriptions
