With Heavy Metal Toxicology we test for metals that cause toxicity in the most vital organs such as the nervous system, bone marrow, liver, kidneys.
Metals can enter the body mainly by breathing in vapours or substances containing them, ingesting contaminated food, dissolving dubious quality dental fillings, dyes of any type, cosmetic products, cleaning products, etc.
The metals tested for toxicity are:
- Lead (Mb): Found mainly in dyes and certain solvents.
- Mercury (Hg): found in contaminated food and released into the body from chemically unstable black fillings.
- Aluminium (Al): found in aerosols of the metal and in dialysis filters.
- Nickel (Ni)
- Chromium (Cr)
- Copper (Cu)
- Cobalt (Co)
- Manganese (Mn)
Because toxins and heavy metals seriously damage the bone marrow, the organ that metabolizes them, the liver, and the organ that excretes them, the kidneys, the recommended tests are as follows:
Blood count and TCE (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) are checked to verify that the bone marrow has not been affected by a toxin in a way that affects the production of white cells, red cells and platelets by the bone marrow.
With β2-microglobulin (β2-m-U) measured in urine, we check for possible kidney dysfunction due to toxic insult.
Transaminases (ALT, AST), used to check for possible liver burden from toxic substances

Heavy metal toxicology is an important field in medicine and public health, since it deals with the study of the effects of heavy metals on the human body and the environment. Heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury, mercury, arsenic and others can enter the body through the diet, the environment or even through occupational exposure, causing a variety of negative health effects.
The heavy metal toxicology checkup is an important procedure for evaluating the effects of exposure to these metals. Through blood, urine or tissue tests, the concentration of heavy metals in the body can be measured and their degree of risk assessed. Also, the detailed diagnosis may include tests of enzyme levels and organic compounds that can indicate the health of tissues and organs, as well as any effects on the body’s metabolism.
Detection of high levels of heavy metals through the checkup can provide important information about a person’s health and can lead to preventive measures to reduce exposure or manage its effects. The potential effects of heavy metal exposure include the development of disorders in the nervous, immune and endocrine systems, as well as health problems in the cardiovascular, respiratory and reproductive systems.
In addition, the effects of heavy metal exposure may be more severe in vulnerable groups such as children, pregnant women and the elderly. For this reason, toxicological assessment and checkup is vital to protect health and prevent potential effects of heavy metal exposure.
